§ 12-195. Compliance, violations and penalties.

  • Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this article shall be fined, upon conviction, not more than $500.00 or imprisoned in the parish jail for a period not to exceed 30 days or both for each offense. Each day that the violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense. Imposition of any penalty hereunder shall not preclude the parish commission or other appropriate authority of the parish or any adjacent or neighboring property owner who would be specifically damaged by such violation from instituting an injunction, mandamus, or other appropriate action or proceeding to prevent such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, conversion, maintenance or use or to correct or abate such violation, or to prevent the occupancy of such building, structure or land.
