§ 16-192. Drivers' requirements.

  • No person shall drive an ambulance responding to calls occurring in this parish, and no holder of an ambulance operator's license shall permit an ambulance under his ownership or control to be driven in this parish unless the driver meets the following requirements:

    (1)

    Possesses a current chauffeur's license issued by the state.

    (2)

    Possesses a current state certified first responder or emergency medical technician certification.

    (3)

    Has not been convicted of two or more moving traffic violations during the year preceding the filing of the application, nor convicted of any DWI or drug-related traffic offenses within five years.

    (4)

    Has no history of alcohol or chemical dependence.

    (5)

    Exhibits that he is familiar with the geography of the parish and the provisions of this article.
