§ 26-38. Vehicular weight.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle on any parish road in excess of the weight limitations allowed at any time by state law.

    (b)

    All fines and penalties authorized at any time by state law for vehicular weight violations are herein specifically authorized and adopted by reference.

    (c)

    This section may be enforced by any duly authorized law enforcement agent.

    (d)

    Notwithstanding anything contained in this section to the contrary, the parish administrator shall have the authority to post weight limits on parish roads lower than the weight limits allowed by state law if it is determined that a lower weight limit is needed to protect any parish road from damage or to prevent any unsafe condition.
