§ 48-84. Notice to proceed; inspection and approval.

  • (a)

    Before any development or preconstruction clearing and grubbing of any proposed road or street, regardless if said road or street is to be public or private, a notice to proceed shall be obtained from the parish public works department. The following items are required before the notice to proceed is issued:

    (1)

    A drawing or sketch of the approximate location of the road or street in relation to any other existing roads or streets located nearby;

    (2)

    A written statement to the department of public works requesting the road or street to be either a publicly maintained road or a privately maintained road.

    (b)

    All public dedications or improvements shown on a subdivision plat, such as streets, drainage ditches and drainage facilities, must be constructed by the developer to meet parish specifications, connected to public maintained streets or roads, and must be inspected and approved by department of public works before any lots are sold and or development permits issued.
