§ 2-49. Reporting by employees of certain matters; protection from reprisals.

  • (a)

    Any parish employee, including an appointed employee, who reports to his supervisor, department head, the parish administrator, the parish commission, its members, or its legislative or audit staff information, conduct or acts concerning the affairs of the parish which he reasonably believes to be illegal, unethical, or in violation of any rule or regulation shall not be subject to discipline or reprisals for reporting said alleged matter.

    (b)

    No employee or elected official with authority to hire and fire shall subject any parish employee to discipline or reprisals because of said employee's reporting of said alleged matters.
